Engineered Features
Dual API Architecture
Combined REST (Jikan) and GraphQL (AniList) APIs to fetch and render complex, real-time anime metadata, schedules, and reviews efficiently.
Personalized Cloud Watchlist
Built a secure backend connection using Firebase, allowing users to authenticate, save, categorize, and manage their favorite anime directly in a cloud database.
Cinematic UI/UX
Designed a highly responsive, premium interface featuring dynamic hero sliders, CSS glass-morphism, skeleton loaders, and intelligent color theming supporting both Dark and Light modes.
Real-Time News Aggregation
Integrated an automated server-side RSS feed parser to fetch and display the latest anime news and announcements directly from top industry sources.
Advanced Search & Discovery
Engineered a highly optimized search functionality and dynamic filtering system to discover anime by genres, airing status, and popularity.
Secure Authentication
Implemented a robust user authentication system supporting both traditional Email/Password and Google OAuth login via Firebase Auth.
Engineering Milestones & Challenges Solved
Optimized Data Fetching: Solved the strict rate limits of the Jikan API by implementing custom fetch wrappers with intelligent caching (next: { revalidate }) and controlled delays, ensuring a 100% success rate without hitting '429 Too Many Requests' errors.
Advanced GraphQL Integration: Engineered complex GraphQL queries to the AniList database to fetch dynamic, time-based airing schedules, filtering explicit content, and sorting by real-time global popularity.
Server-Side Rendering (SSR) & SEO: Utilized Next.js Server Components to pre-render heavy API data on the server. This drastically improved initial page load speed (LCP) and enabled dynamic Open Graph metadata generation for perfect SEO and social sharing scores.
Complex State Management: Handled multiple asynchronous data states (Trending, Seasonal, Top Airing) and user authentication states simultaneously across dynamic routes without causing UI freezes or infinite re-renders.
